RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
RAOK are Good for Your Health (See My News Page)
Stories of RAOK From All of You and One From Me

First:  My personal favorite Random Act of Kindness occured in college.  I navigated a series of sidestreets to get to class everyday in Hayward, California by car.  Routinely, as I passed an assisted living home, I would see an elderly gentleman (an amputee) in a wheelchair.  He would invariably smile and wave at passing motorists from the sidewalk.  He was an inspiration and a part of my daily joy though he could not have known.  The day I finished my last class prior to graduation, I went to a florist and chose a bouquet of flowers.  On my way home, I stopped for the first time and entered the assisted living home.  The receiptionist knew immediately the identity of the gentleman of my inquiries.  Ushered to his room, I presented the bouquet of flowers to this unsuspecting man.  He was speechless and overwhelmed.  I told him I was graduating and that he was important to me.  To this day, I look back on that lovely encounter and smile with an inner glow.  Small wonder that performing Random Acts of Kindness has been determined to be good for your health.

From Kristy:
Renee  Thank you so much.  I'm always wanting to hear of  random acts of kindness. They fit in so well with my Holocaust teaching...at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem a tree is planted for every rescuer that we know about who was not Jewish....called Righteous Among Gentiles..including persons of Asian...on rare occasion Arab/Muslim culture who saved the lives of Jews at whatever cost to themselves...often their lives. I suppose I might belong in that category of a rescuer as I've taken into my home(s) for short or long periods homeless students, paid so many medical bills for needy folks who have no insurance or such poor coverage they can' t  pay. ... I have found that most Rescuers do not consider themselves as doing anything more than the right thing, I wonder if  we could tell about NOT our own acts of kindness but those of others?  (Author's Note to Kristy - Yes!)

From Dottie:
We gals in Sedona (Arizona) are hanging charms for people to find and wishing them a great day and to spread the kindness!  (Author's Note to Dottie - Thanks so much, Dottie.  I have heard charms have been placed around the world.  What a wonderful idea!!)  UPDATE - Visit the "Charmed Sedona" page on Facebook for pictures and postings.  Thank you again, ladies!

From Tara:
(Author's Note First - I will take your word for it, Tara, that this involves Random Acts of Kindness. This one is my most "colorful" entry to date.  If the concept works, you go girl.)   :)   I am attending "I DO GIVE A F### DAY."
